Once Human hidden code

Once Human hidden code

When Once Human was released as a free game to the open world, many people were out to enjoy a free game, the down side to this free game is it was plagued with issues. It took sometime before those issues were identified, once that happened, the bugs started rolling out and slowly they were addressed and patched.

Support

If you found yourself with an issue and wanted help you were pretty much given a shit service. There was no hope on the Steam Discussions, website provided little to no details at all and last Discord provided no support period. People would ask for help and often it was just the players who knew would jump in and ask for help to try and assist, outside of this, Dev support was a shit show and no support.

Getting Disconnected?

If one of your main gripes was constantly getting disconnected, there is a very valid reason as to why this was happening and will continue to happen. You see when the servers were released, someone had to pay for those servers, the game itself is free to play with a ton of Pay to Play options available. Looking closer at the game you can clearly see why people were getting disconnected. This was happening because once they had laid the foundation for the servers the money stopped for adding additional servers and so they could keep everything under control, they had to control the players. So some code was introduced into the game to battle high pings.

High Ping Rates

If a server has a high ping rate caused by many players, what do you think happens to that server? Your best friend LAG comes along and starts causing all sorts of issues, so the easiest way to combat the high ping is to cull those players at a certain ping and the easiest way to do this is add some nice bit of code that basically says, “Hey, if your ping is above 150-200, we will wait a few mins first and see if your ping changes and if it doesn’t we will disconnect you from the current server, then reconnect you, hoping it fixes the issue. Of course it doesn’t fix the issue but only rages you even more. So in the end, the game ejects you out of your session and reconnects you, with you hoping it isn’t a permanent event and you continue to play.

The Outcome

So what happens now? Well in all honesty, uninstall the game, don’t support it and just walk away. To this date August 2nd 2024 and the latest patch, it’s still the same issue.
