How to Disable CD Rom Drives
Disable or Enable CD-ROM Autorun
Step 1) Go to run and type regedit and hit enter
Step 2) Now go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Cdrom
Changing this value to 0 disables the CD-ROM autorun feature.
A value of 1 enables autorun.

Notice the value ‘Start‘, this should be 3 by default [3 = enabled]. Switch this value to 4 [4 = disabled], and USB storage devices are disabled. To re-enable the device switch this value to 3.
